Just a picture to go along with my post about training for a Half Marathon! Always need a little encouragement!

Half Marathon!
My cousin Kristen and I decided to register for the Disney Half Marathon in January. We are now all registered and signed up and the airfare has even been bought so this is a definite sealed deal!
We are both super excited and are headed now into our 3rd week of training and we’re doing pretty great! (this is a 29 week training program we developed ourselves by the way and we’re thrilled that it seems to be working!).
Every day my body is getting stronger and stronger and I love the way that the intense exercise makes me feel, however, my body has decided to fight me it seems. At first I had a lot of muscle fatigue from all of the running which was actually caused by a lack of carbs in my diet (I am gluten free so I basically don’t eat carbs). I fixed that problem though by just incorporating more carbs into my diet and my muscles are very happy with me for it.
Of course, when one problem gets fixed another one gets created. Unfortunately, this one has no solution. My body isn’t used to this intense physical activity so my hormones are a little crazed right now and my body (against my birth-control’s control!) decided to have a period. Ugh! I have no idea how long it’s going to last or if it even will stop although I’m hoping it will end soon and have been reassured by my doctor that it is completely normal and that once my body adjusts to the training, all will go back to normal.
In the meantime, I guess I’ll just be a super cranky and bloated Marathon trainee with cramps!!!
Wish me luck! I’ll keep you posted on my journey and improvement =)

This is my life exactly!

The left side of my jaw (or maybe its the tonsil) and my head hurt for whatever reason, my shoulders are radiating heat because they allegedly got too much sun, and every abdominal muscle I have is saying “you’re an idiot”, “no more planking” or “if you do another crunch I swear I’ll…!”, my stomach aches because I stuffed it with too many shrimp (and laffy taffy), and my eyelids are becoming increasingly heavier…. I think it’s time for bed!

I lost the love of my life last night.
There’s a huge hole in my heart.
I’m glad he isn’t hurting anymore but I miss him more than anything.
No more puppy to greet with a milkbone when I get home, no more puppy kisses, no more puppy dinner, no more puppy to let outside, no more jingling of his collar as he sneaks up on you, no more tufts of dog hair left on the floor where he was sleeping, no more fetch for the tennis ball, no more big puppy smile, no more puppy =(
Rest In Peace my sweet sweet boy, I love you more than anything. I will miss you always and will never ever forget you. You were the best puppy in the whole wide world and I can’t believe I was lucky enough to call you mine -
Call me a geek but I really am very proud of the work my group and I did on this poster project. Can’t wait to show off our awesomeness to some CEOs tomorrow! #nursing #nursingstudent #nursingstudents #poster #project #oralhealth (Taken with instagram)

Breakfast of champions: Smarties and good old H2O…. That’s what just how it goes when you have a 9am Anat&Phys class.

Sometimes I love being a nursing major
So today while in Health Promotion my professor decided to talk about condoms and why they are so easily accessible nowadays at stores:
“I remember when we used to have to go Into the store to the pharmacist and ask for them and they’d ask you what brand and if you wanted anything….. Ya know… Special. And by that point you’d just say ‘forget it… I’ll just tell my mom to buy her own!’ haha”.
